PLP have appointed TanRo to build the final six units of Phase 1 at PLP Milton Keynes, totalling 214,000 sq ft and ranging in size between 14,959 sq ft and 70,865 sq ft. The vertical build for these 6 units commenced in April 2023, and Unit 5 is due to complete in December 2023, with Units 6 to 10 completing in January 2024.
When complete, Units 5 to 10 will conclude the delivery of Phase 1 at PLP MK, which will total 1.05 million sq ft of highly specified logistics space across 10 units. The first 4 units of Phase 1, will complete in July 2023 and will total 840,000 sq ft.
The scheme will achieve a Carbon Net Zero status. As with all PLP speculatively developed properties, it will adhere to the UK Green Building Council’s Net Zero Buildings Framework. PLP’s carbon net zero (CNZ) framework combines CNZ construction with CNZ ready design, to enable future occupiers to achieve CNZ operation by utilising built-in renewable energy features and procuring appropriate renewable energy supplies. This includes the use of solar photovoltaics, air source heating and cooling, LED lighting and electric car charging points. Future flexibility is also built into the design, with features such as a strengthened roof to enable full coverage of solar photovoltaics and underground infrastructure to facilitate 100% of all car and HGV parking spaces to have electric charging points.
Edward Jackson, Development Director: “PLP are proud to be delivering 6 such highly specified units into a market struggling with such an unprecedented lack of supply. The size band is perfect for rapidly growing businesses, with a need for modern ESG-focused industrial and logistics space. The appointment of TanRo is an important partnership for PLP. We have been very impressed by their highly methodical and professional approach to the project and look forward to a successful delivery.”
Savills, Cushman & Wakefield and Kirkby Diamond have been appointed as joint leasing agents.
